Dr. Maja Raković is a Senior Research Associate at the Department of Hydroecology and Water Protection, Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" (University of Belgrade). Her research focuses on freshwater Mollusca (Gastropoda and Bivalvia), traditional and molecular taxonomy, ecological interactions in aquatic ecosystems, and biomonitoring. She has led projects like AquaμPlaS (microplastics in Serbian aquatic ecosystems) and B4EB (biomass for energy and biodiversity), while actively participating in EU Horizon projects such as ReFocuS FLOW and ReFocuS Art 3.0. As an Associate Editor for Water Research and Management and Guest Editor for WATER (MDPI), she contributes to scientific publishing.
