Maja Ačkar

Professor Maja Ačkar is a full professor at the Piano Department of the Music Academy, University of Sarajevo. Born in 1978, she graduated in 2001 with a GPA of 9.75 and earned her master's degree in 2006. Her academic career includes international study at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm (2003/04) and specialized training in harpsichord and Baroque music.

• Performance Focus: Renaissance to contemporary composers, with emphasis on promoting Bosnian composers through concerts, edited sheet music publications, and CD recordings
• Global Presence: Performed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Italy, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Egypt, and USA

Her scholarly contributions include editorial work on the Anthology of Bosnian Composers' Piano Music and participation in festivals like Majske Muzičke Svečanosti and Seviqc Brežice. Notable collaborations include artists like Yevgeny Xaviereff, U. Soderberg, and Lovro Pogorelić.
