Maite Herráiz Bayod

Maite Herráiz Bayod is a Consultant Lecturer at the Department of Digestive within the College of Medicine at the University of Navarra. She is affiliated with the Clínica Universidad de Navarra (CUN) and the Cancer Center Clínica Universidad de Navarra (CCUN), contributing to the research group TGC Terapia Génica del Cáncer (Gene Therapy for Cancer).

• Education: PhD in Medicine from the University of Navarra (2002), with a dissertation titled "Estudio de los mecanismos de toxicidad hepática inducida por el tratamiento con un adenovirus portador del gen de la timidín kinasa del virus herpes simple y ganciclovir" (Study of mechanisms of hepatic toxicity induced by treatment with an adenovirus carrying the herpes simplex thymidine kinase gene and ganciclovir).

Her research focuses on gene therapy for cancer and hepatic toxicity mechanisms related to viral vector treatments. She collaborates closely with experts in the field, including her PhD supervisors Dr. Bruno Sangro Gómez Acebo and Dr. Matilde Bustos, to advance oncological therapies and molecular biology applications in digestive system pathologies.
