Dr. Maisha N. Cooper is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte), where she also serves as Assistant Dean of Engagement for the College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences. A U.S. Navy veteran and mother of three, her work focuses on criminal justice and social diversity, juvenile justice systems, and the intersection of religiosity and crime. She holds a Ph.D. (2018) from Sam Houston State University and advanced degrees from the University of Central Missouri.
