Mahmoud Eltholth

Mahmoud Eltholth is a Lecturer in Global Health at the Department of Health Studies, Royal Holloway, University of London. He is affiliated with the Health Inequalities Research Group and contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through his research. His educational background includes a PhD in Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health (Royal Veterinary College, 2011) and an MSc in Health Economics (City University London, 2015).

Research interests focus on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), livestock practices, climate change impacts, and global health equity. Key projects include leading the AMAST Network (BBSRC-funded) addressing AMR in agrifood systems and the BAC4RumA project exploring antibiotic alternatives in livestock. He has also managed UK-India AMR Visiting Fellowships (Academy of Medical Sciences) and NetVet4SAMU, an international veterinary education network.

Recent publications address traditional knowledge preservation in antibiotic reduction, climate-driven AMR dynamics, and equitable global health partnerships. His work spans interdisciplinary collaborations in Nigeria, Kenya, and beyond, emphasizing sustainable solutions for health and environmental challenges.

Grants include funding from BBSRC, International Development Research Centre, and the Academy of Medical Sciences. He actively engages in policy-relevant research to bridge gaps between academic findings and real-world applications in global health systems.
