About
Mahima Sneha is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Dartmouth College. Her research focuses on ultrafast time-resolved spectroscopy techniques to study photoinduced chemical reactions in solutions and at interfaces. She holds an Integrated MSc from NISER India (2012), a PhD from Stanford University (2018), and postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Bristol (Marie Sklodowska-Curie) and Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Alexander von Humboldt).
Education:
- Integrated MSc in Chemistry, NISER India (2012)
- PhD in Chemistry, Stanford University (2018)
- Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Bristol
- Alexander von Humboldt Fellow, Ruhr-Universität Bochum
Research Interests:
Her work combines advanced spectroscopic methods like transient vibrational spectroscopy and sum frequency generation to investigate photocatalytic reactions and interfacial dynamics. Key focus areas include:
- Energy and electron transfer pathways in photocatalysis
- Reaction intermediates at air-water and solid-liquid interfaces
- Ultrafast (100 fs) to slow (ms) timescale dynamics
Publications:
Recent work includes studies on radical-induced rearrangements, photoredox catalyst structures, and solvent effects on photochemical dynamics. Over 15 peer-reviewed articles since 2014 demonstrate expertise in spectroscopic analysis and reaction mechanism elucidation.
Labs and Teams:
Runs the Sneha Lab at Dartmouth, developing novel spectroscopic instrumentation to probe chemical reaction dynamics. Collaborates widely with institutions including Stanford, Bristol, and Bochum on energy/materials-related projects.
