About
Magnus Persson is a Professor and Head of Office in the Division of Water Resources Engineering at Lund University's Faculty of Engineering (LTH). His research focuses on hydrology, soil science, and climate resilience, with active contributions to the LTH Water Profile Area. He currently supervises 6 PhD students and 1 Master's student in projects spanning flood management, erosion dynamics, and hydrological modeling.
His research interests center on sustainable water resource management, particularly:
- Soil erosion processes and land use impacts
- Climate change effects on hydrological systems
- Nanoparticle transport in environmental systems
- Catchment-scale resilience strategies
Recent publications (2024) demonstrate strong focus on flood risk assessment in Rwanda, soil erosion in Brazilian savannas, and nanoparticle behavior in porous media. These works consistently address climate adaptation challenges through interdisciplinary approaches combining field measurements and modeling.
He leads/participates in 5 active research projects including:
- EcoDiver: Enhancing hydrodiversity for climate resilience
- FarmWise: Sustainable agricultural water management
- SPRINT collaboration with São Paulo University
