Professor Magnus George is a faculty member in the Entrepreneurship and Strategy department at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS). He holds the academic rank of Professor in Entrepreneurship and is affiliated with the Pentland Centre for Sustainability in Business. His research focuses on workplace stress and well-being in SMEs, entrepreneurship in transition zones such as Colombia, and university-business engagement models. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate entrepreneurship modules and has contributed to programs like the Entrepreneur in Residence initiative.
Research projects include developing entrepreneurship in demobilization areas (2018–2019), creating innovation ecosystems around SMEs (2013–2017), and exploring non-executive directors in UK SMEs (2011–2012). He has been recognized with awards including the ESRC Celebrating Impact Award and the Pilkington Teaching Award. His external engagements include roles with the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Micro Businesses and the House of Lords Select Committee on SMEs.
