Maggie Quance is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean of Research and Scholarship in the Faculty of Health, Community and Education at Mount Royal University. She holds a PhD from the University of Calgary, an MN from the University of Manitoba, and a BN from the University of Manitoba. Her research focuses on perinatal nursing, nurses’ work, clinical instructors’ roles, food security, and student resilience. She currently leads a multidisciplinary study on food security at MRU.
Her teaching areas include maternal and newborn nursing and research methods. Recent presentations address Labour and Delivery Nurses’ work, clinical instruction, and student preparedness for NCLEX exams. She supports scholarly activities across disciplines within her faculty, including Nursing, Education, and Social Work.
Key research interests include improving clinical education, understanding workplace dynamics for perinatal nurses, and addressing systemic barriers to student success through resilience frameworks.
