Prof. Maggi Leung is a Professor of International Development Studies at the University of Amsterdam, affiliated with the Faculty of Geosciences. Previously, she held positions at Utrecht University as Associate and Assistant Professor. Her research focuses on migration, mobilities, and development, with a particular interest in Chinese migration, transnational education, and sustainable development. She teaches courses on development geographies and migration, and serves on editorial boards such as Geoforum and the International Board of Editors for Chinese Overseas Review.
