Magdalena Markowska

Dr. Magdalena Markowska serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Physical Education in Kraków (Akademia Wychowania Fizycznego w Krakowie), where she is affiliated with the Department of Motor Rehabilitation within the Faculty of Physical Rehabilitation. She earned her PhD in Physical Culture Sciences from the Bronisław Czech University of Physical Education in Krakow between 2015-2019.

Her educational journey includes a Master's degree in Physiotherapy (2003-2008), Postgraduate studies in Vocational Teaching (2009-2010), and a Professional Physiotherapy License (PWZFz: 40694). Prior to her academic position, she gained extensive clinical experience working with oncology and geriatric patients at the Beskid Cancer Center in Bielsko-Biała (2012-2021), as well as at the Widzyk Center and various physiotherapy clinics.

Dr. Markowska's research focuses on evidence-based rehabilitation approaches for diverse patient populations, with particular emphasis on cancer rehabilitation, back pain management, and occupational therapy techniques. Her clinical expertise encompasses specialized methods including PNF, Mulligan Concept, Kinesio Taping, and therapeutic massage.

Her recent publications (2017-2025) demonstrate expertise across multiple rehabilitation domains, with studies on Snoezelen therapy for schizophrenia patients, physiotherapeutic techniques for cancer-related pain, and rehabilitation approaches for children with special needs. Her work bridges clinical practice with academic research, emphasizing patient-centered care and functional outcomes.

Professionally, she serves on the Collegial Court of the Polish Physiotherapy Society Małopolska Branch (since 2016) and has been a member of the Branch Board since 2011. She coordinates university courses in Therapeutic Massage and Classic Massage for Physiotherapy and Cosmetology students.
