About
Madeline Wade is a Physics Professor at Kenyon College and LIGO Scientific Collaboration member. Her research focuses on detecting gravitational waves from compact binary mergers using interferometry. She contributed to the first direct detection of gravitational waves in 2015 and continues to develop data analysis techniques for LIGO observations.
Key research areas:
- Calibration of LIGO interferometers
- Noise characterization in gravitational wave data
- Black hole and neutron star merger detection
- Astrophysical source modeling
