Madeleine Rauch is an Associate Professor of Strategy and International Business at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School. She also serves as Bye-Fellow and Director of Studies at Gonville and Caius College. Her PhD is from the European University Viadrina. She previously worked at Stanford University and Copenhagen Business School. Her research focuses on strategizing in extreme contexts, including undocumented individuals in the US, healthcare workers during the pandemic, and soldiers in war zones like Afghanistan and South Sudan.
Her work has been published in journals like Organization Science, Journal of Management Studies, and Harvard Business Review. She has been recognized with the 40 under 40 MBA Professors award (2025), Best Paper Awards at AoM and SMS, and her research is featured in Academy of Management Insights.
Dr. Rauch advises on editorial boards for journals including Organization Science and Academy of Management Perspectives. Prior to academia, she held HR roles in the automotive industry in Germany and Mexico.
