Madeleine MacDonald

Madeleine MacDonald is an Instructor at the School of Hospitality and Tourism, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). She holds a Hospitality Management degree from SAIT (2014) and has extensive industry experience in both front and back-of-house roles across Calgary's hospitality sector.

Her professional focus includes advancing workplace safety and ethics through initiatives like the 'Cocktails and Consent' training program (2017), developed with Calgary’s Centre for Sexuality. This program addresses sexual harassment recognition and bystander intervention, now integrated into SAIT’s curriculum. She also supports industry workers via the Bartenders Benevolent Fund, a nonprofit she serves on the board of.

Notable contributions include organizing Speed Rack, an all-female cocktail competition for breast cancer research, and advocating for mentorship through her teaching role since 2018. Awards include the 2018 White Hat Award for Beverage Specialist.
