Madaline Healey

Dr. Madaline Healey is a Senior Research Fellow at the Forest Research Institute, University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC), Queensland, Australia. She specializes in integrated pest management (IPM), biological control, and forest biosecurity, particularly in Southeast Asia and Africa. Since 2015, she has led research projects focused on enhancing biosecurity networks, pest management in agroforestry systems, and capacity-building for smallholder farmers in developing countries.

Education: Advanced Diploma in Agriculture (Melbourne), Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Honours, Melbourne), PhD in Agricultural Science (Central Queensland University). Professional experience includes fieldwork in Laos since 2014, where she developed IPM strategies and trained local stakeholders. Her work emphasizes cross-border collaboration and policy development to mitigate invasive species threats.

Key research areas include forest health, IPM in agroecosystems, and sustainable forestry practices. She has secured grants from ACIAR, DFAT, and The Crawford Fund to support projects like 'Building an Effective Forest Biosecurity Network in SE Asia' (2022–2025) and 'Scoping for a Forest Biosecurity Network' (2020–2021).
