Maciej Bobowicz

Maciej Bobowicz, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the 2nd Division of Radiology at the Medical University of Gdańsk, affiliated with the Faculty of Health Sciences. He is a member of two research teams: IV. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data, and V. Cancer Imaging. His research focuses on AI-driven healthcare solutions, oncologic imaging, surgical outcomes, and metabolic surgery innovations.

Notable achievements include leadership in the CINDERELLA clinical trial exploring AI-enhanced breast cancer treatment decisions, contributions to the LAI Consortium for liver lesion diagnosis via AI, and development of federated learning frameworks for privacy-preserving medical imaging. He has published over 54 articles, holds 1 patent, and managed 5 research projects.

His work bridges clinical practice and technology, emphasizing trustworthy AI implementation in healthcare. Key areas of expertise include breast cancer DCE-MRI benchmarking, radiomics for treatment response prediction, and fluorescence-guided bariatric surgery techniques.

Bobowicz actively participates in interdisciplinary conferences and guideline development, such as the FUTURE-AI international consensus on trustworthy AI systems. His surgical research spans appendectomy outcomes, bariatric surgery efficacy, and emergency gastrointestinal procedures.
