Dr. Mabel Costa is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Durham University Business School. She joined Durham in August 2022 after serving as a Lecturer at Massey University, New Zealand (2018-2022). Previously, she held academic positions at North South University in Bangladesh and Leeds Beckett University in England. Her international teaching experience spans multicultural environments across three continents.
She holds a PhD in Accountancy from Massey University focused on "Determinants and Consequence of Cost Stickiness," an M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Leeds, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from North South University.
Her research examines interdisciplinary intersections between corporate mechanisms and financial outcomes, with primary focus areas including:
