Maarten J. IJzerman is Professor and Dean at Erasmus School of Health Policy and Management (Erasmus University Rotterdam), where he leads initiatives in health services research. Concurrently, he holds the Chair of Cancer Health Services Research at the University of Melbourne and serves as Principal Research Fellow at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. His work advances Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through oncology and health policy innovations.
Research interests span precision medicine, health economics, and decision modeling. His team focuses on cost-effectiveness of cancer therapies, diagnostic algorithms, and screening programs. Recent work includes developing clinical decision tools for arthritis management and validating tumor-marker algorithms for lung cancer immunotherapy.
