MUHAMMET BERAT CAN

Muhammet Berat Can serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Arabic Language and Rhetoric at Nigde Omer Halisdemir University's Faculty of Islamic Sciences, holding concurrent administrative roles as Vice Dean and Senate Member since 2022. Previously, he held academic positions at Gumushane University from 2019-2020.

His educational background includes:

• Doctorate in Arabian Language and Rhetoric from Atatürk University (2014-2019), thesis: 'The life, works and place of Semih el-Kasım in resistance literature'
• Master's in Fundamental Islamic Sciences from Gumushane University (2013-2014), thesis: 'Nevasih verbs and their usage in Mu'xxallakas'
• Bachelor's in Theology from Ankara University (2007-2009)

Specializing in Arabic linguistics and Palestinian resistance literature, Can's research examines Quranic semantics, classical rhetoric, and cultural resistance narratives. His recent publications analyze works by Palestinian authors like Semih El-Kasım while exploring connections between Arabic poetry, national identity, and political struggle. Current projects include TÜBİTAK-funded studies on Salonika immigrants' language structures and religious terminology in Kazakh literary works.

His advising includes Abdurrahman Agcakaya's thesis on Ahmed Hamlavi's works. Administrative leadership encompasses departmental and faculty-level responsibilities since 2020.
