MEHMET ERDEM is a Lecturer at the Vocational School of Health Services under Gaziantep University, specializing in the Medical Services and Techniques department. His research focuses on biological activities of plants, antioxidant properties, and their applications in chemotherapy and medical sciences.

Recent studies include investigating Taraxacum officinale and Iris species for antioxidant and antibacterial properties. His work often involves collaborations with other scientists like Mehmet Ozaslan and Safwan Mouaket. Notably, he explored the impact of boric acid on cisplatin-induced neuropathy in rats.
Between 2022 and 2024, he completed a project titled Investigation of the effects of dandelion (Taraxacum officinale L.) leaf extract in a cisplatin-induced neurotoxicity model, funded by Higher Education Institutions. He has presented numerous papers at international conferences such as the International Conference on Basic Sciences, Engineering and Technology (ICBASET) and The Mediterranean Symposium on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants.
