MATTYNA L. STEPHENS

Mattyna L. Stephens is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development at Texas A&M University's School of Education and Human Development. She specializes in adult education, organizational development, and leadership training. Dr. Stephens holds a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, an M.A. in Health and Kinesiology from The Ohio State University, and a B.S. from Johnson C. Smith University.

Her research focuses on adult learning principles, health education, and social justice issues impacting marginalized communities. She has published over 20 refereed articles, three book chapters, and authored two children's books. Recent work includes studies on HIV/AIDS self-care among Black women and online teaching strategies for graduate faculty.

Dr. Stephens teaches courses such as Foundations in Human Resource Development, Applied Learning Principles in Adult Education, and Methods for Teaching Adults. She actively serves on journal editorial boards and professional organizations including the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education and the Academy of Human Resource Development.
