MARIA ROSA PEREZ RODRIGUEZ

Maria Rosa Perez Rodriguez serves as a full-time researcher in the Department of Spanish Language at the Faculty of Philology and Translation, University of Vigo. She is an active member of the STYLES research group (Studies of Translation, Interpretation, Oral Languages and Signatures), contributing to interdisciplinary linguistic scholarship.

Her doctoral training culminated in a 1996 dissertation at the University of Santiago de Compostela titled Contribution to the study of the medieval Castilian verbal system: the irreal forms in Berceo, supervised by Dr. Alexandre Vega Rodríguez. This foundational work established her expertise in historical Spanish syntax.

Her research centers on Spanish Linguistics with specialized focus on Medieval Spanish verb morphology, particularly irrealis constructions in religious texts like those of Gonzalo de Berceo. This work intersects with Translation Studies through the STYLES group's examination of linguistic transfer in historical contexts, while extending into Oral Languages analysis of syntactic preservation in spoken traditions.
