MARIA REGINA RAMOS HORTAL

Maria Regina Ramos Hortal is an Assistant Professor at the Electronic Engineering Teaching Unit within the Polytechnic University of Madrid's Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineers (ETSII-UPM). She has been collaborating on projects in power electronics since 2014, focusing on applications for photovoltaic systems, More Electric Aircraft, and renewable energy technologies using GaN devices.

• Education: PhD (2021), MS in Industrial Electronics (2016), and BSc in Industrial Engineering (Electronic and Automatic Engineering, 2014) from UPM
• Current Affiliation: Department of Automation, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Industrial Informatics
• Research Focus: Advanced control algorithms for power converters, high-power density solutions, and electrification in aerospace

Her work bridges industrial electronics with cutting-edge control systems development. She has participated in technology transfer projects with high-impact companies, particularly around photovoltaic applications and More Electric Aircraft systems.
