Professor M. Suhail Zubairy is a University Distinguished Professor and holder of the Munnerlyn-Heep Chair in Quantum Optics at Texas A&M University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester in 1978 under Prof. Emil Wolf. Before joining Texas A&M in 2000, he served as Professor of Electronics and founding Chairman of the Department of Electronics at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan.

Research Interests: Quantum optics, quantum computing, quantum communication, quantum thermodynamics, laser physics, and quantum state measurement. He co-authored books on quantum optics and quantum computing and recently published Quantum Mechanics for Beginners.

Advising and Grants: Advises students including Chaofan Zhou, Abdullah Alturki, and Jiru Liu. His research team focuses on cutting-edge quantum technologies. Institutional partnerships include the Institute for Quantum Science & Engineering at Texas A&M.
