Lynne V. Gauthier

Lynne V. Gauthier is an Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, affiliated with the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences Department of Physical Therapy & Kinesiology. She directs the Neurorecovery and Brain Imaging Laboratory and is part of the UMOVE Center. Her work focuses on neuroplasticity and innovative rehabilitation technologies.

Education: BA in Neuroscience (Brandeis University), MA and PhD in Medical (Clinical) Psychology (University of Alabama at Birmingham), with clinical internship at Brown University.

Research interests include neurorehabilitation technologies like virtual reality and gaming for stroke, multiple sclerosis, and brain injury recovery. She emphasizes accessibility, predictive analytics, and neuroimaging to understand rehabilitation outcomes. Her lab has secured multi-year funding from NIH, Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, and others.

Advising and grants: Co-chairs the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine's Neuroplasticity working group. Over 20 peer-reviewed publications since 2006 address rehabilitation efficacy, neuroimaging correlates, and therapeutic interventions.
