Lynn Mabe is a Senior Lecturer I in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies at The University of Texas at Dallas. She holds a Ph.D. in Counseling from Texas A&M University (2001), an M.Ed. in Counseling from Psychology (1990), and a B.A. in Psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University (1989). Her research focuses on interpersonal communication, crisis intervention strategies, workplace mediation, and diversity in corporate environments. She has conducted critical studies on marital adjustment among law enforcement officers and maintains a private practice in crisis communication consulting.
Professional memberships include the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. Notable achievements include the Dallas Police Department’s Citizen of Merit Commendation and multiple commendations from law enforcement agencies. She has served as a consultant for police departments and businesses since 2000.
Her academic career spans over two decades, including teaching roles at Texas A&M University (2003–2004) and leadership in interdisciplinary education at UTD since 2006. Her work bridges communication theory with practical applications in high-stress environments.
