Lynn Edward Reed

Lynn Edward Reed is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee Space Institute (UTSI) within the Tickle College of Engineering, Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. He is also a full-time engineering consultant at the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services (UT CIS), where he has worked since 1996.

• MS in Industrial Engineering from University of Tennessee Space Institute, Tullahoma
• BS in Chemical Engineering from University of Tennessee, Knoxville

Dr. Reed specializes in Risk Management, Industrial Quality Improvement, and Manufacturing Process Optimization. His research focuses on:

• Risk Assessment in Manufacturing and Supply Chains
• Defect Reduction in Automotive Production
• Cost Mitigation Strategies
• Statistical Process Control and Industrial Problem Solving
• Environmental/Regulatory Compliance

For over 25 years, he has collaborated with Tennessee industries, particularly automotive manufacturers and their North American supply chains, developing training programs and conducting research on formal supply chain training impacts.

Teaching Expertise: He has taught courses in Industrial Risk Management, Quality Management Systems, Environmental Management, Energy Management, and Statistical Process Control.
