Lynn Byers

Lynn Byers is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and former Interim Dean at Quinnipiac University's School of Computing and Engineering. She holds a BS from the United States Military Academy (West Point), MS and PhD from Pennsylvania State University (Aerospace Engineering). She served 26 years in the U.S. Army as a licensed professional engineer and rated pilot in helicopters and airplanes.

Academic Leadership:

• Chair of Department of Engineering (2013–2021)
• Interim Dean of School of Computing and Engineering (2021)

Research & Teaching: Focuses on engineering education research, particularly 3D modeling and additive manufacturing for innovation. Teaches courses like MER 110/110H and MER 490. Active in ABET accreditation and curriculum development.

Professional Contributions: Presented at ASME conferences and oversees initiatives like the annual Projects Day and Baja SAE team competitions. Leads efforts to enhance engineering education through interdisciplinary collaboration.
