Lydia Hamlett is a Teaching Professor of Early Modern Visual Culture at the Professional & Continuing Education (PACE) division of the University of Cambridge and a Fellow and Director of Studies in History of Art at Murray Edwards College. She has taught at Cambridge since 2003.
Her research focuses on the British Baroque and mural painting, particularly the sensory dimensions of early modern murals. She is currently writing a monograph on this topic and co-editing a book on the Women’s Art Collection.
Dr. Hamlett is affiliated with the British Murals Research Network and contributes to academic discourse through her involvement in the Department of History of Art and its associated seminar series, including the Cambridge Visual Culture Seminar Series and the Slade Lectures in Fine Art.
