Luke Scheuer

Professor Luke M. Scheuer is a Full-Time Faculty member at the Widener University School of Law, holding the rank of Professor. He specializes in corporate law, contracts, and cannabis business law, with emerging research on blockchain applications in legal fields. Scheuer earned his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Toronto and his J.D. from Boston College Law School.

His research focuses on regulatory conflicts in cannabis law, corporate governance, and legal ethics. Notable areas include federal-state policy clashes affecting marijuana businesses and blockchain’s role in corporate and contract law. He has authored articles on topics such as marijuana securities markets, tax-exempt status disputes, and the moral responsibilities of corporate lawyers.

Before academia, Scheuer clerked at the U.S. District Court for Massachusetts and practiced corporate law at Goodwin Procter LLP. He teaches advanced legal skills and has served on non-profit boards, including Common Cause and the American Constitutional Society. A former professional ballet dancer, he occasionally performs with the First State Ballet Theatre.
