About
Luiz A. DaSilva is the Bradley Professor of Cybersecurity and Executive Director of the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) at Virginia Tech. He holds a Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. from the University of Kansas (1998, 1988, 1986). Previously, he was a Professor of Telecommunications at Trinity College Dublin and Director of CONNECT, a Science Foundation Ireland-funded research center.
His research focuses on distributed resource management in wireless networks, cognitive radio networks, and game theory applications. He leads the NSF-funded WISPER IUCRC, pioneering wireless and networking technologies. Current grants include projects funded by the European Commission (Horizon 2020) and NSF.
