About
Luis Pilli serves as a Research Fellow at the Erasmus School of Economics, Department of Marketing, Erasmus University Rotterdam, while concurrently pursuing his PhD at the Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management in Health Technology Assessment (HTA).
His research centers on health decision-making processes, with emphasis on social influences, normative pressures, and discrete choice methodologies. Pilli investigates how healthcare personnel, patients, and caregivers make critical decisions across contexts including breast cancer treatment, Parkinson's disease management, and aging-in-place solutions. His interdisciplinary approach bridges health economics, behavioral psychology, and health policy analysis.
Recent publications (2024-2025) reveal consistent application of discrete choice experiments to quantify preferences in high-stakes medical scenarios. Key thematic threads include social norm impacts on health choices, remote monitoring adoption barriers, and preference heterogeneity among stakeholders. This work directly informs health technology assessment frameworks and clinical decision-support systems.
