Luis Cook serves as Senior Lecturer in Animation within the Film and Journalism department at the University of the West of England's College of Arts, Technology and Environment. He is joint programme leader for the MA Animation programme alongside Julia Bracegirdle and teaches into the BA Animation programme.
His research interests span professional animation practice with emphasis on commercial direction, title sequence design, short film production, and broadcast development. With over 25 years of industry experience including 18 years at Aardman Animations, his expertise bridges academic instruction and real-world animation production across commercials, idents, pilots, and series work.
Career highlights include winning over 60 international awards including BAFTAs, the Cartoon d'or, Annecy Special Jury Award, D&AD, RTS, and multiple Grand Prix and British Animation Awards, plus an Academy Award nomination.
