Luigi Minale

Luigi Minale is an Associate Professor (with tenure) in the Department of Economics at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from University College London (2015) and completed undergraduate studies at Bocconi University. His research focuses on Labour Economics, Migration, Development Economics, and Political Economy, with affiliations to CReAM (UCL), IZA Institute of Labor Economics, and the Centro Studi Luca D'Agliano. He serves on the Executive Board of COSME, a committee addressing gender equality in economics. Recent research explores refugee integration, risk attitudes in migration decisions, and social capital dynamics. His teaching includes Econometrics and Labour Economics at both undergraduate and PhD levels. Notable contributions include analyzing China’s rural-urban migration trends and the impact of employment restrictions on refugee outcomes. He co-organizes the 2025 EBRD & King’s College London Workshop on Migration Economics and Politics.
