Luhan Cheng

Luhan Cheng is a PhD Researcher at Swinburne University of Technology, focusing on computational approaches to scientific problems with societal impact. He joined the Centre in July 2023 to pursue his project 'Automated Horizon Scanning for Scientific Papers and Patents,' supervised by Dr. Stephen Petrie and Assoc. Prof. Amir Aryani.

• Education: Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) from Monash University (specializing in multi-agent reinforcement learning and game theory).

His research aims to develop automated methods for knowledge mining in scientific articles and invention patents, leveraging computational techniques to address critical societal challenges. Prior to his PhD, Luhan worked as a high-performance computing consultant at Monash eResearch Centre and served as a teaching assistant in Monash's Faculty of IT.
