Lucy Zhu

Dr. Lucy Zhu is a Lecturer in Esports at the University of Northampton's Faculty of Science. She holds a PhD in Sport Management from Loughborough University and an MSc in International Management from the University of Exeter. Her research bridges academic theory and industry practice in the rapidly growing esports sector.

Research interests focus on esports dynamics including event service quality, spectator/player motivation, wellbeing impacts, and social implications. Her work applies psychological frameworks like Self-Determination Theory to understand behavioral patterns in emerging digital sports environments.
