Lucy Kinski is an Assistant Professor in European Union Politics at the University of Salzburg’s Salzburg Center for European Union Studies (SCEUS). She specializes in parliamentary representation and responsiveness within the multi-level European Union system, with particular emphasis on transnational interrelationships between national parliaments and the European Parliament, as well as representation of marginalized groups like women and young people.
Her research includes an ERC Starting Grant project INCONEX (2025–2030), exploring intangible interests and excluded electorates in EU politics. She has published widely in top journals such as Environmental Politics, European Union Politics, and Journal of Common Market Studies, and serves as book review editor for the Austrian Journal of Political Science. Her teaching covers EU politics, representation, and research methods at BA and MA levels.
Scientific Awards:

She supervises bachelor’s and master’s theses in EU studies and comparative politics, and her previous roles include postdoctoral research at the University of Salzburg, senior researcher at the University of Düsseldorf, and policy advisor in the German Federal Chancellery.
