Lucy Chipchase is a Professor and Deputy Dean of Clinical and Community Practice at Flinders University's College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and a Full Member of the Caring Futures Institute. She holds a PhD in Physiotherapy Education (2007) from an unspecified institution, a Master of Applied Science (1993), and a Diploma of Physiotherapy (1985). Previously, she held academic positions at the University of South Australia, University of Queensland, Western Sydney University, and University of Canberra before joining Flinders in 2019. Her career began as a physiotherapist in the UK and Australia, alongside private practice.
Her research focuses on Pain Management, Clinical Education, Student Engagement, and Healthcare Experiences within CALD communities. She has published over 130 peer-reviewed articles and secured over 30 research grants, including NHMRC and Australian Department of Health funding. She has supervised dozens of postgraduate students, emphasizing academic excellence.
Recent articles explore telehealth applications in clinical education, interprofessional healthcare models, and predictive frameworks in care delivery. Her work aligns with UN SDG objectives in education and healthcare equity.
Lucy contributes to the Caring Futures Institute, advancing healthcare innovation through predictive modeling and ethical AI in the PROLIFERATE_AI consultancy project (2024–2045).
