Luca Vaglio is a fixed-term researcher (Ricercatore a tempo determinato) at the Department of European, American and Intercultural Studies, Sapienza University of Rome. He teaches South Slavic Languages and Literatures, with a 2025-2026 schedule including Monday and Thursday sessions in Room 103 of the Marco Polo Building. His research focuses on novel poetics, autobiography, sonnet genesis, Italianisms in South Slavic languages, and literary translation history.
- Education: MA in Foreign Languages/Literatures, PhD in Central Eastern European Philology/Literature (Sapienza)
- International Experience: Postdoc at University of Belgrade (2010) under EU-funded Basileus Project; Associate Professor at University of Kragujevac (2014-2019)
His scholarly work examines Southern Slavic literary phenomena (Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, Montenegrin) within European contexts. As editorial board member of Ricerche slavistiche and Biblioteca di Studi Slavistici, he contributes to academic publishing. He received the 2020 Serbian PEN Center Literary Translation Award.
