About
Luca Munaron is a Professor at the Department of Life Sciences and Systems Biology, University of Turin, where he leads the Cellular and Molecular Angiogenesis Lab. His research investigates ion channels (particularly TRP/Orai) in cancer progression, tumor vascularization, and calcium signaling dynamics, with applications in prostate cancer therapy and regenerative medicine. The lab develops nanoparticle-based targeting strategies and electrophysiological approaches for biomedical applications.
Current projects include the PRIN 2022 grant: Multi-Scale Protocols Generation for Intelligent Biofabrication and active collaborations with industry partners (Rottapharm-Madaus, Meda Pharma, etc.) for in vitro services in regenerative medicine and biomaterials.
Lab team includes:
- Professors: Alessandra Fiorio Pla, Tullio Genova
- Researcher: Federico Ruffinatti
- Postdoc: Giorgia Chinigò
- PhD Students: Luca Visentin, Chiara Vaghi
- Technician: Alessandra Gilardino
Open positions include PhD projects on bone vascularization and undergraduate theses on nanopore electrophysiology.
