Luca Ghiretti is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Theology, Department of Theology, University of Basel. He is also a PhD student in the SNSF research project "Conviviality in Motion" since September 2020, focusing on intercultural processes within the Waldensian Church in Italy.
His research combines ethnographic study of two congregations with historical document analysis, examining practices and theologies of conviviality amid evolving migration policies in Italy since the 1980s.
Luca Ghiretti serves as District Representative for Mission and Ecumenism in the Markgräflerland District (Evangelical Church in Baden) since 2018, and as a board member of the Gustav-Adolf-Werk Baden since 2016. He was ordained as pastor in 2016 after passing the 2nd theological examination, with previous pastoral roles (2016-2020) and vicariate experience (2013-2016).
