Luca Fanelli

Luca Fanelli is a Full Professor of Econometrics at the University of Bologna's Department of Economics. He serves as Director of the Organisational Unit (UOS) Rimini and has held leadership roles including President of the Italian Society of Econometrics (SIdE-IEA) since 2024. His research focuses on Macroeconometrics, Time Series Econometrics, and Applied Macroeconomics, with notable contributions to structural vector autoregressions (SVARs), DSGE models, and monetary/fiscal policy analysis. He has published in top journals like the Journal of Econometrics and Journal of Applied Econometrics.

Education: PhD in Statistical Sciences (1998) and B.S. in Statistics and Economics (1993), both from the University of Bologna. Institutional roles include membership in the Rimini Campus Council and leadership in national committees such as the Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale (ASN) in Econometrics (2016–2018). He has supervised over 100 Master's students and multiple PhD candidates, including those at the University of Bologna and abroad.

Recent work includes analyzing fiscal multipliers in Italian regions, enhancing meteorological drought risk management, and developing bootstrap methods for DSGE model diagnostics.
