Luca Bellodi

Luca Bellodi is a Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution and a Research Fellow in the Department of Political Science at Stanford University. He holds a PhD in Political Science from University College London (2022) and previously served as a postdoctoral fellow at Bocconi University's DONDENA Center. His research focuses on American political institutions, particularly the interplay between politics, bureaucracy, and populism, with an emphasis on governance quality and bureaucratic agency behavior.

Research Interests: Bellodi explores politicians' incentives to control bureaucratic agencies, lawmakers' reliance on bureaucratic expertise, and the role of bureaucracy in shaping political agendas. His work also examines populism's impact on governance and bureaucratic performance.
