Dr. Luc Boerboom is an Associate Professor in Spatial Planning and Decision Support Systems at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and Geo-Information Management, University of Twente. He holds an MSc from Wageningen University (1992) and a PhD from the University of Georgia (1999). His expertise spans decision sciences, multi-criteria decision-making, and spatial planning systems. He has led projects in Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Malaysia, and Bangladesh, focusing on spatial planning frameworks, disaster risk reduction, and climate adaptation. His work contributes to UN SDGs related to sustainable urbanization and environmental management.

Research Interests: Decision support systems, institutionalization of spatial planning, urban and regional development, and climate change adaptation. His projects include web-based decision tools for spatial planning in post-war regions and mangrove conservation.
