Dr. Lu Wang is Associate Professor and Department Chair in Geography at Toronto Metropolitan University. She holds a PhD in Economic Geography from York University and leads research on immigrant health, spatial accessibility, and ethnic economies in urban environments.
Her SSHRC and CIHR-funded research examines healthcare access disparities among immigrant populations using mixed-methods approaches combining GIS, spatial statistics, and qualitative analysis. Current projects investigate COVID-19's social patterning, ethnic grocery retailing as healthy food sources, and transnational health practices. She developed innovative accessibility models integrating linguistic matching and transportation factors.
