Lu Qi is the HCA Regents Distinguished Chair & Professor and Interim Chair of the Epidemiology Department at Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. He also holds an adjunct professorship at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and directs the Tulane University Obesity Research Center.

Scientific Awards include fellowships from the American Heart Association (FAHA), American College of Nutrition (FACN), and The Obesity Society (FOS). He serves as editor-in-chief of the World Journal of Diabetes and holds editorial roles at multiple journals, including BMC Medical Genetics and Nutrition Reviews.
