Professor Lu Liu is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Exeter, holding the title of Professor of Artificial Intelligence. He serves as Director of Research and Impact, focusing on Machine Learning, Sustainable Systems, and Artificial Intelligence of Things to develop trustworthy and sustainable AI methods for healthcare, Net Zero, and autonomous vehicles.
His research spans algorithms, applications, and interdisciplinary collaborations, with an emphasis on self-learning digital twinning models that evolve through real-world data. He has secured over 30 grants from organizations like UKRI/EPSRC, EU, Innovate UK, and industry leaders such as BT and Rolls-Royce.
