Loïca Avanthey

Loïca Avanthey is an Assistant Professor at EPITA, where she co-founded the SEAL (Sense, Explore, Analyze and Learn) robotics research team, now merged with the Image Processing and Pattern Recognition group. She co-leads EPITA's robotics axis and specializes in multi-environment field robotics and close-range remote sensing.

Her research examines

• Underwater mapping with autonomous robots (UUV/USV)
• Drone-based sensing systems
• Algorithm development for constrained environments
• Pedagogical innovations in robotics education

Recent publications focus on underwater 3D reconstruction, AI-optimized calibration, and educational robotics. She actively conducts field operations as a professional diver and coordinates experimental workshops for the French GDR Robotique.
