Dr. Louise Hunt is a Research Fellow at the School of Health Professions, Plymouth University. Her work focuses on co-producing healthy, sustainable food systems for disadvantaged communities as part of the £6M UKRI-funded FoodSEqual project since April 2021. Previously, she completed her PhD at the Maternal and Infant Nutrition and Nurture Unit (MAINN) at the University of Central Lancashire.

Louise combines public health nutrition expertise with grassroots experience from her prior role as a nurse and leader in third-sector breastfeeding peer support initiatives. Her research bridges nutrition science, community engagement, and sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly through interdisciplinary collaboration in deprived areas.
Current work with the FoodSEqual consortium explores systems-level interventions to address health disparities, leveraging both academic and practical insights from her nursing and peer support background.
