Lotten Gustafsson Reinius is a Professor at Stockholm University's Department of Ethnology, History of Religions and Gender Studies, with a part-time Hallwyl Professorship at the Nordic Museum. Her research focuses on cultural memory, environmental humanities, and critical heritage studies, particularly addressing colonial history and climate change impacts. She leads projects like 'Life with Forest Loss' and co-curates exhibitions such as Arktis medan isen smälter. Active in museum ethics, she co-edited Ritual Repatriation and pioneered repatriation ceremonies as ritual practices. A former director of the Museum of Ethnography (2014–16), she chairs UNESCO heritage initiatives and collaborates internationally on Arctic environmental research.
